Our Story
How It Started
Championship Traditions was started by Dr. Seng when he realized that our society has begun to move toward groupthink (where everyone gets a trophy for just showing up). Even though he has earned multiple college degrees, Dr. Seng still tried to stay abreast of happenings at the high school he graduated from back in the dark ages. Being a High School Teacher for over 20 years, Dr. Seng has seen and purchased t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and polo shirts from club/teams ranging from Baseball, Softball, and Football, to Swimming, the Band, JROTC, and Astronomy. While each piece of apparel was pertinent to the current time/season, none were ever designed to celebrate or continue celebrating past successes to encourage continued success.
In addition, Dr. Seng had noticed over the years that the celebration of Individual and Team achievements and a Winning attitude (irrespective of the challenge at hand) and which has been a Hallmark of the Culture found in the United States of America, was being diminished by many of our local and national leaders! The U.S. has moved to a place where everyone in little league receives a trophy and scores are no longer being kept at games because those in charge don't want feelings to be hurt. BS! This has lead to a generation of high school students who think that just because they show up they should be rewarded! As a boy and a teenager, Dr. Seng participated in Baseball, Football, Basketball, Wrestling, Swimming, Band and Chorus, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. His teams didn't win many championships, but the losses fueled his (and his team's) desire to work harder and win! Without that desire to succeed, he doubts he would have ever accomplished a majority of the things he has over his lifetime.
Seeing that his high school had won numerous State Championships in 11 different sports, Dr. Seng set out start a company that would celebrate greatness (past or present) and encourage continued pursuit of winning and excellence. That is where the idea for Championship Traditions came from.
Our Mission
Dr. Seng started Championship Traditions to celebrate and help foster that winning and championship culture. We want to help schools, clubs, teams, and any group or organization celebrate and build a culture of success or continue to build upon a legacy and heritage of success and winning. We celebrate the champion mindset and help teams keep that mindset on a daily basis with Championship Traditions apparel and accessories. Whether it’s motivational quotes to encourage or helping your team remember and build upon past greatness, we will assist you to design clothing and accessories that will be uplifting and motivational for your team.
